In this post I am going to make a comment about the following video:

"Carol read: ideas for using flashcards"

This video presents a very effective method of teaching for the elementary students, based on the use flashcards. And now, several techniques will be presented using flashcards in which especially work the vocabulary.
-          Techniques (In all techniques you have to take the attention of the children to can explain and work adequately)

a)      Flash: we have to show the flashcards very quickly, and then, the children have to identify.
b)      Slowly: we have to show the flashcard very slowly until the children identify him.
c)      What’s missing?: we have to put the flashcard on the black board and then, the children have to repeat all the flashcards. Then, the children are covering their eyes and the teacher has to remove one flashcard. Finally the children have to know what flashcard missing.
d)      Magic eyes: we have to put the flashcard on the black board. Then, the teacher with the children, have to repeat with rhythm sequence. Then, the teacher is going to remove flashcard and the children should be continue the sequence.
This technique is very important to the memory training.
e)      Lip reading: we have to put the flashcards on the black board. The teacher has to say one flashcard only whit lip reading, and finally, the children have to identify.
f)       Flashcards riddle: we have to put the flashcard on the black board. Then the teacher has to describe one of them. Finally, the children have to guess what it is.
g)      Flashcards groups: we have to separate the class in little groups. Then, we have to assign each group a flashcard. Then, the teacher will say an action an then the group that must do it.
h)      Hands on head: we have to separate the class in two groups.  Each of the breads will have several cards. Finally, the teacher will say an action an then the group that must do it.
i)        Flashcards chain: both teacher and children have to put in a cycle. Then, the teacher passes one flash card to the left and she says one question (for example: do you like the dogs??) and then the child has to respond and to says the same question to his partner on the left and so on.
j)        Kim’s game: it takes 12 to 15 different flashcards. The children have one minute to see the flashcards, then the teacher has to remove it. Finally the children have to write on a paper all the words that they remember.

I consider that the use of flashcards is very appropriate not only for learning vocabulary but also for memory training, visual acuity and body language as I have been exposing in the different techniques.
